Despina started her career with KPMG in 2003, where she was qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA). Following a move to the Real Estate industry, she then continued her career in the financial services industry from 2011 (banking, funds, investment firms), specialising in internal audit, risk management and regulatory compliance.
She is a Chartered Accountant (ACA), a Certified Internal Auditor and holds the CySEC Advanced Certificate. Throughout her career, Despina has held key leadership positions, some of these being, Executive Director, Risk Manager, Head of Internal Audit and Audit Committee Chairperson. She has played a pivotal role in overseeing internal controls, risk management strategies and measures, financial performance analysis and governance, ensuring that the organisations operate efficiently while maintaining high standards of compliance.
Despina has one child and enjoys arts, music and staying active, balancing her professional responsibilities with her personal interests.
